The 2003-2004 Roller Sports Ontario Indoor Speed Points Series came to a close on Sunday March 21st at the Forum Roller Rink in Cambridge, Ontario. This first year series, which I brough to the Roller Sports Ontario Speed Committe, which eventually worked out the current format, has worked wonders for the small indoor skating community in Ontario. Racing was always tough in each and every division throughout the entire series as onlookers were left guessing, at best, who would win which race.

Racing today was very quick. The day started off with slick track conditions, but that was fixed after the 300 meter time trials. There were a number of serious looking falls, but everyone got up and completed their races. Tasha Burnside was the strongest female skater of the day while Dean Ardnt took the top honours for the men.

A big thank you to all those who had a part to play in the success of this series. The Roller Sports Ontario Outdoor Speed Points Series is set to kick-off at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga on April 24th, weather permitting.

Scott Newdick and Herb Gayle doing their best floor sweeping under the supervision of Chief Ref David Matthews.

Keri Chard leads Lindsay Chard and Scott Newdick in the Level-3 500 meter race.

These pistons (a.k.a legs) drove 15 year old Dean Ardnt to an overwhelming victory in all 3 races of the day.

Officials meet to discuss infractions that took place during a race.
