Join us for Grand Old Day On the Go!

Our race day headquarters are at Whole Foods Market, at the northeast corner of Grand Ave. and Fairview Ave. in St. Paul. At our headquarters you can pick up your registration packet (including bib number, ChampionChip, optional shirt and more), as well as stop by our sponsor booths including Whole Foods Market and Runners' Edge.

Restroom facilities are available at the portable toilets on Grand Ave. between Fairview Ave. and Snelling Ave.

Our 8K and 5K courses are out and back, starting and finishing near Wheeler on Grand Avenue. The 8K (4.97 miles) course is USATF certified, while the 5K (3.1 miles) course is not certified but is accurately measured.

Click here to see the course map or to get driving directions.

Parking is available on Summit Ave., as well as at the University of St. Thomas parking lot at Summit/Cretin. No parking will be allowed on Grand Avenue east of Fairview, so please come early to find the best parking spots!

Youth Run

This year the Grand Old Day On the Go Youth Run is sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank on Grand, conveniently located on the corner of Grand and Fairview Avenues across the street from our headquarters area. Youth runners will have their choice of running mile or mile. Both races begin at Grand and Wheeler. Our large display clock will be visible at the finish, but no times will be kept. Special certificates will be given to all finishers as well as Whole Kids Organic Raisins from Whole Foods Market. Youth runners will receive a $13 discount off the adult entry fees!

Like all events brought to you by The Sporting Life, Grand Old Day On the Go offers you choices. You can choose a short sleeve shirt, tank top, neither (economy) or both (combo).

Shirts will be 100% cotton, with a new On the Go 2004 design. Because we offer so many options, we need you to register at least one week before the event to be make sure we order the correct styles and sizes. Shirts will be guaranteed on race day to everyone registering by 5/31/2004. Entrants after the cutoff are not guaranteed shirts on race day. If shirts are not available on race day, they will be available at Runners' Edge two weeks after the race, or by mail for an additional $5.

Please register early to guarantee your shirt!

Times will be recorded for all 5K and 8K finishers. We use the ChampionChip timing system, the original and still the best chip timing device. Each participant receives a small device called a chip, which they easily attach to one shoe. Timing mats are placed at the start and finish lines of each race. Times will be recored from when a participant crosses the starting line to when they cross the finish line. No more time penalty for being in the middle or back of the pack!

No prizes will be awarded in the 5K.

Prizes in the 8K run will be awarded to the top finsihers in five year age groups from fourteen and under to 75 and over. Prizes in the 8K inline skate will be in age groups from thirteen and under to 65 and older.
