More Info

Lifeline of Ohio is dedicated to promoting organ and tissue donation to battle the national health care crisis that results in the deaths of 17 men, women and children each day due to a lack of an organ donation. There are more than 86,000 individuals currently on the waiting list for a life-saving transplant, with more than 2,500 of these individuals living in Ohio.

Lifeline of Ohio will showcase the difference that donation makes in everyday lives by creating a sea of green. Any participant whose life has been touched by donation and transplantation (transplant candidates, transplant recipients, their families, living donors and donor families) can request a green race t-shirt to celebrate the Gift of Life. Blank racing bibs will also be available for participants to personalize how donation has impacted their lives, to attach pictures or to honor the individuals for whom they are racing. We hope our sea of green awakens the public to the importance of organ and tissue donation.

Lifeline of Ohio is a federally designated, independent, non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote and coordinate donation of human organs and tissue for transplantation. Lifeline of Ohio's transplant coordinators, surgical technicians, and other professional staff provide services to 68 hospitals and communities in 40 counties in Central and Southeastern Ohio and Wood County, West Virginia. Both community education and professional programs are offered free of charge at hospitals, schools, and civic groups to increase awareness and knowledge concerning organ and tissue donation.

For more information or to request a speaker for your organization, please call the Lifeline office at 1/800-525-5667, or visit their website: www.lifelineofohio.org
