Got what it takes for a 24-hour team relay race? The 24 Hours Inline Montreal website is now online, full of useful information, ready to receive your team registration! (That's www.inline24.ca.)

On July 10-11, Roller-Montreal, Bougex.com and Jean-Drapeau Park will host the First Annual 24 Hours Inline Montreal team relay race for skaters. Modeled on the historic 24-hour races at Le Mans, France, and held like them on a Formula-1 racetrack, this will be a North-American first.

Montreal's famous Gilles-Villeneuve Racetrack is located on an island park in the St. Lawrence River, minutes from downtown and yet a world away. Pedestrian-free and with perfect asphalt, the track is one of our favorite places to skate. For the 24-Hour Relay, skaters will be sheltered in the same paddocks as the F-1 teams during auto races. Rain or shine, this race is happening!

What will it cost? $350 CDN per team if you register online up till July 8. Teams can include up to 10 skaters, so you could pay as little as $35 each. Registration on the day of the race is $400 CDN per team.

So talk to your friends, start making teams, spread the word! Teams are coming from Toronto, Ottawa, New York, Vermont, and all over Quebec. Whether you're a speedskater, a fitness-skater or a fun-loving rec-skater, there will be teams here just like you. (And if you can't find a team, get in touch and we'll link you up.)
