Race Type:

The Montreal International Marathon is back on the track. With the same organizing committee as in the 80ths, the Marathon will offer the same quality of services, organization and respect for the runners.

By bringing this high-profile event back to Montreal, the organizing committee hopes to restore it to its former glory by giving runners from all over North and South America an opportunity to compete in an outdoor event at the end of the season. The famous wheelchair marathon, which propelled many famous Quebec and canadian athletes to the international scene, will also be back.

The event will be open to elite inline skaters, this time for the entire distance of the marathon. This world-class competition will be a new challenge in Montreal.

In keeping with tradition, most of the races will start out on the Jacques Cartier Bridge. From there, they will go to Jean Drapeau Park, to finish in Lafontaine Park, where cultural activities will give participants and spectators a chance to end the day on a festive note.

The distance is 42 km and participants should be able to cover that distance in less than 2 hours for men and 2h30 for women. Passed performances could be checked by Charles Beaudoin, responsible for the elite inline skating competition.

A total of $7,000 in prize money will be awarded to the first three women and first three men to cross the finish line (elite category)
