Be a part of history as Round Rock Parks and Recreation and Hill Country Speed bring you the 1st Annual Texas Road Rash Inline Marathon and 16 K, the first inline skating event of its kind in Central Texas.

The 2004 race will be on Sunday, March 28, at 7:30 a.m. at Old Settlers Park. Participants will enjoy a pasta dinner on Saturday, March 27, prior to setting out for the race on Sunday, March 28. Stick around after the race for an awards ceremony and entertainment.

Course
The course is a smooth, closed, looped course with 5 laps for marathon and 2 laps for 16 K. The start and finish line is at the Lakeview Pavilion at Old Settlers Park.

$50 full marathon before March 1, $60 after March 1,
$30 for 16Km before March 1, $40 after March 1.

Team Discounts - for teams of 10 or more. Must register before March 1 and contact Mike Hemker, the inline race director, for more requirements. Make checks payable to the City of Round Rock.

Categories
Pro = Elite Skaters
Pro Masters = Elite Skaters age 35+
Advanced = Skaters with previous marathon experience or can finish in 1 hour and 31 minutes.
Fitness/Recreational = first time marathon and/or 4 wheel skates

Directions: From IH-35 take HWY 79 East approximately 5 miles. Turn left on Harrell Parkway into Old Settlers Park. The starting line for Sunday, March 28, is approximately 2 miles into the park by the Lakeview Pavilion.

Perks and Giveaways
Saturday night enjoy a free pasta dinner, get your packet materials and visit with other inline participants before setting out on Sunday morning. All participants receive a free T-shirt, goodie bag and are eligible for door prizes.

Course assistance
Round Rock Parks and Recreation will provide road assistance and transport for those unable to complete the course.

Safety and Rules
Helmets and wrist guards are mandatory. Knee and elbow pads are recommended. Inline skates and quads only. NO rollerskis, ski poles, skateboards, strollers, bandits, bikes, automobiles, or pets. Headphone use is prohibited.

Watering Holes
Rest areas will be located throughout the course. Fruit and drinks will be provided and medical assistance (if needed).

Rules
This event will be held rain or shine. Absolutely no transfers of race numbers will be allowed. No refunds can be given.
