July 10-11, 2004

The MS SUN 75 kicks off in Hinckley at West Side Park at 8 a.m. on July 10. Skaters will park their cars in the designated weekend parking area, grab their luggage and skates, check in, get their materials and have some breakfast. Then it's time to drop the luggage on the luggage truck bound for the overnight site, and hit the Munger Trail it's just feet from the park.

The Willard Munger Trail is one of the longest paved trails in North America with some of the most beautiful scenery that Minnesota has to offer. On day one, skaters travel 35 miles through beautiful northern Minnesota from Hinckley to Barnum. They'll experience rolling open prairies, wildlife, a state park and a state forest. Hot tubs, lunch, dinner, showers, massages, indoor and outdoor camping facilities and entertainment await them as they arrive in Barnum.

There is something for everyone Saturday evening. At the Barnum Municipal Bar, right across the street from the fairgrounds, skaters can kick back with a beverage or dance with a band. Shuttles will also be provided to nearby churches and movie theaters. At the school, you'll find a quiet zone where you can read, play a gam of cards or go to bed early.

On day two, skaters wake up to Cris' Cakes, the famous breakfast force of the MS SUN 75. With pancakes and sausages to fill them up, the route gets even more breathtaking as you take in rivers, bluffs, rock cliffs and the famous northern pines.

Throughout the tour, skaters enjoy rest stops with snacks, beverages, toilets and first aid every 5 to 7 miles. From meals and support to entertainment and a great skate, we've got you covered all weekend.
